FrameScraper Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-10-02. Applies to FrameScraper 0.1.9.

FrameScraper extracts structured data from a browser page you select. It runs locally in your Chrome browser. FrameScraper has no developer-operated data collection endpoint, account system, analytics, advertising, cloud synchronization, or AI service. The extension does not send extracted rows, settings, recipes, diagnostics, or browsing data to its developer or other third parties.

Data processed on your device

When you use FrameScraper, it reads the selected tab's URL and reachable frame information to bind the extraction to the intended page and request the relevant website permissions. It reads visible table/list content, selected field values and link/image URL text, and may read the supported Feishu sheet's in-page data model. Content can include personal or sensitive information if it is present in the page you choose. Do not treat FrameScraper's extraction filters as a guarantee that every sensitive value will be excluded.

The extension listens to navigation and tab events and keeps an in-memory cache of frame origins to support reliable permission requests and iframe discovery. This cache can include origins from open tabs, but it is not a persisted browsing-history database and is not uploaded. Extraction is bound to the selected target tab; idle agents do not continuously scan unrelated tabs for datasets.

Extraction results, schema information, checkpoints, action journals, and diagnostics are stored in extension-origin IndexedDB. Preferences, saved extraction recipes, language choice, and workspace position are stored in Chrome's local extension storage. Temporary workspace/session references are stored in Chrome session storage. These stores remain on your device. Chrome or your device administrator may separately manage browser data according to their own policies.

Diagnostics redact URL query parameters and fragments and do not include full extracted row payloads by default. The extension does not read cookies or authentication headers, and excludes password fields and hidden credential-like fields from extraction. A website's ordinary text or visible fields can still contain confidential information.

Actions and exports

With your chosen collection mode, FrameScraper may click Next or Load More and scroll the selected page. The target website may make its own network requests in response to these actions under that site's policies. This is distinct from the extension uploading extracted results.

The packaged workspace may load additional extension-local application resources. This does not transmit extracted page data.

Exports create local CSV, JSON, or XLSX downloads. Copy TSV writes the selected data to your system clipboard after you click the button; FrameScraper does not read clipboard contents. You control whether to share those files or clipboard values. Exported files can contain selected page data and run/coverage metadata. Image fields are exported as URL text; the preview does not automatically fetch remote images.

Permissions

Control and retention

Committed result data remains locally until you delete it or remove the extension's local data. The workspace's two-step Delete committed results action removes the current session's results, schemas, checkpoints, action journals and diagnostics. It does not remove unrelated sessions, saved recipes, preferences or files already exported. You can revoke website access in Chrome's extension settings. Removing the extension clears its browser-managed extension storage; previously exported files and clipboard contents remain under your control. Incognito mode is not supported.

Sharing and policy commitments

FrameScraper does not sell user data, transfer it for advertising, or use it for creditworthiness or lending decisions. Local processing is limited to the extraction, storage, recovery and export features described here. FrameScraper's use of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
